It has been a fantastic few years for the Nissan Qashqai and 2014 looks set to be a good one too.  The popular crossover has scooped the coveted Car of the Year award in the What Car? Car of the Year Awards 2014. As if that wasn’t enough, it was also named the Best Small SUV.   At the Vospers Blog we recently heard rave reviews for the Qashqai from Exeter Chiefs and the Plymouth Albion players who have been reviewing it and now What Car? has also given endorsement to this exciting car.

The What Car? Awards have been running for 37 years and are recognised as one of the most respected in the motoring calendar. On announcing the Qashqai as the overall winner for the awards Editor-in-Chief of the magazine, Chas Hallett, said;

“It brings excellence and polish to a class of cars that was already brimming with talent and tempting buys. There’s more to it than that though. …..the costs are low, while comfort, refinement, space and safety are first class. Every last detail has been thought of, down to how you stow the parcel shelf.”

As the award judges refine their selection down to specific model it was the Qashqai 1.5 dCi Acenta 2WD that really caught their eye to win the ultimate accolade.

The awards also saw What Car? readers give their verdict on the forthcoming Nissan X-Trail. They voted the not-yet-launched vehicle the ‘Most Exciting Car’ for 2014. Here in Plymouth the Nissan X-Trail is set to launch this summer and we can’t wait.
