Vospers were thrilled to attend the Plymouth Experience EV Event on 21/11/2023. The event was organised by Plymouth City Council, and took place adjacent to Plymouth Argyle’s stadium, Home Park.

Alongside Vospers, automotive dealers from across Plymouth and surrounding areas were invited to connect with Plymouth people and businesses. The dealerships, displayed various EV models from a range of manufacturers. Allowing customers, members of public, and businesses alike, to discover, explorer, and test drive EV’s.

The idea behind the event was to help Plymouth drivers learn about switching to electric. As well as to answer any questions they might have. Another aim of the event was to ensure the myths surrounding EV’s were addressed. Plymouth City Council want individuals to be able to make a more informed choice when it comes to making the switch. As such several talks and a Q&A session were hosted at the event in addition to the vehicle display.

Plymouth Plymouth Experience EV Event – Talks

As well as Vospers and other local dealers showcasing their vehicles, there were also several talks from Plymouth City Council, Connect Plymouth, Wenea and The Energy Saving Trust. Plymouth City Council announced numerous plans and partnerships in the works for making Plymouth a greener city. One of these partnerships is Wenea. Wenea will be working with Plymouth City Council to create a more reliable network of public chargers.

Another of the speakers, Connect Plymouth, are aiming to change the way people travel within Plymouth. One scheme is introducing Electric Car and Bike hire throughout the city. The Energy Saving Trust, are an independent Department for Transport organisation. They provide impartial advice and insight for consumers and businesses surrounding making the switch to electric. They simply exist to present the cold hard facts, without bias.

Vospers look forward to attending future events of a similar nature, where local authority, businesses, and communities, can connect, discuss, and learn about the switch to electric. To have the opportunity to present our vehicles as options and hear from drivers their questions, concerns, and preferences, allows Vospers to be a better retailer, to meet the motoring needs of drivers in the South West.

It was also great to see so many of our automotive dealership colleagues from across Plymouth attend the event, a truly joint venture, working to engage with our local people on an important topic, as we all strive towards a greener, cleaner, and safer place to live.
