Vospers new £12m Exeter supersite will transform customer experience of servicing

Vospers today revealed more details about its exciting new £12m Exeter supersite, by announcing plans for an innovative service centre, set to transform the customer experience.

The car dealer’s new 61,215 square foot state of the art facility at Matford, opening late 2018, will feature a new FordStore and five state of the art showrooms for Ford, Mazda, Fiat, Jeep and Alfa Romeo.

A key feature of the new site will be the after sales service centre with its superior design, quality engineering and intuitive technology. The space has been designed to the highest standard incorporating technology and equipment by leading US brand Hunter and DEA Italian designed and handcrafted toolboxes.

Service Director Neil Tickner said: “We are incredibly excited about welcoming customers to what will be a world class showroom and service experience. Featuring the very latest equipment and processes, Vospers will be offering the highest quality and most efficient servicing available.

“We pride ourselves on outstanding customer service and the new supersite in Exeter will only enhance that. The workshop facilities will be state-of-the-art and customers will benefit from regular communication from our highly trained team of technicians, aided by the latest technology available in the motor industry.”

As well as 28 servicing bays, the new workshop will feature the latest manufacturer and independent diagnostic equipment including a Proalign multi-check lane with the latest 4-wheel alignment system. This quick and efficient technology will allow brakes, tyre pressures and tread depths to be checked automatically when driving on to a ramp, rather than manually by a technician.

The new technology will enable Vospers to introduce new style ‘Express Servicing’ to customers. This best in class form of lean servicing will be more efficient and customer friendly, ensuring an hour turn around on services and MOTs. It means customers can relax in comfortable surroundings, with WI-FI and refreshments, while their car is in the workshop. Vospers Express Servicing will be available 7 days a week to every class of vehicle up to 3.5 tonnes, including mini buses and public service vehicles from 4 dedicated express bays.

Vospers will also provide customers with an interactive experience, by sharing information with them regarding the status of their vehicle whilst in the workshop. Technicians are trained to make short video presentations explaining the work required or checks undertaken. The video is then texted or emailed to the customer.

Aimed at providing piece of mind and reassurance, the process gives customers the experience and feel of how their cars are checked and repaired. Introduced by Vospers a year ago, the concept has proved extremely successful, with the car dealer on track to deliver 20,000 videos to customers this year.

The new supersite will see the consolidation of Vospers’ three current sites in Exeter, all relocating to the new site on Matford Way adjacent to the recently opened Audi site and opposite Jaguar and Land Rover.

The establishment of the new facility is the culmination of a 10-year plan to deliver leading sales, service and parts facilities for staff and customers and to further strengthen the company’s presence in the region.

There will also be a dedicated Transit Centre and Business Centre, catering for business and retail customers in a relaxed and friendly environment. The site also includes a Used Car Centre with all makes on display. With more than 250 used cars, it will be one of the largest family run dealership sites in the South West.

Within the new showroom customers will also enjoy a unique and fresh buyer and owner experience, including a car configurator, allowing customers to build a 3D life size image of their new car.

The main contractor on the £12m build is APP Construction, with several local contractors appointed to assist in the delivery of the project. Work on the structural steelwork has been completed and work on fitting the roof is underway. The new site is due for completion in October, with new showroom launches taking place from November.
