We at Vospers are thrilled that we could support the Aspire Academy Trust with their Connect 40 Relay Challenge. We have provided them with a Ford Transit for the event. This means they can ensure that the logistics associated with the event can take place without an extra cost to the charity.

What is the Aspire Connect 40 Relay Challenge?

The Aspire Connect 40 Relay Challenge is a team endurance event taking place from 6th – 15th March 2024. The event will raise money for two fantastic causes! The two selected charities receiving equal donations are Comic Relief Red Nose Day and Youth Sport Trust.

During the event the participants will be circumnavigating Cornwall. Passing 36 Aspire academies, two outdoor education centres (Carlyon Bay and Carnyorth) and two central core service buildings (Truro and St Austell). The only mode of transport available to the adult participants are forms of physical activity. This could be walking, running, cycling, rowing, swimming, or even horse riding! Physical exertion is the key challenge of this event, anything involving an engine is strictly off limits.

The Aspire Connect 40 Relay Challenge will commence at Bude Primary Academy on Wednesday 6th March. It will finish at Tregolls Academy, Truro on Comic Relief Red Nose Day – Friday 15th March. Each relay stage has been carefully planned to connect one school, or Aspire setting, to another. Some stages will involve working as pairs or groups, rather than an individual.

A special baton containing a live tracker will be officially handed between participants as they progress through each stage. Staff, children, family, and friends will be able to ‘track’ the progress of the baton from the classroom or office live here.

Although the participants will all be adults, Aspire Academy pupils will also be actively involved in raising money for the two charities. There will be a number of physical school-led activities either on the day the baton arrives on their doorstep, or on Red Nose Day itself. If you want to help raise money and donate today.
