Early this month (November) Peugeot revealed the All-New Peugeot E-RIFTER! Designed to be a multipurpose leisure vehicle that takes electrification and efficiency to the next level.

Peugeot’s Goal

Peugeot’s goal is to be the leading European brand in the electric market by as early as 2025. This is why they decided to broaden their already vast EV range with the new E-Rifter.  The new vehicle represents another step forward in Peugeot’s electrification. Boasting a range of up to 199 miles, all whilst holding on to the qualities that have made the previous models of this multipurpose leisure vehicle such a success.

Peugeot E-Rifter: Adventurous Design

Although the new E-Rifter holds on to it’s core features, the vehicle also dons the brand’s new design characteristics throughout. Providing not only a robust and stylish exterior a comfortable and inviting interior. The versatility and dynamism embedded in the E-Rifter reflects the diversity and modernity of its customers. The vehicle is built to be able to adapt to the the requirements needed for a wide range of activities, whilst simultaneously providing optimum interior comfort and space.

The front end of the E-Rifter has been completely updated. Now featuring a new radiator grille with the new Peugeot shield. As well as this, the vehicle has adopted a modernised front bumper design, and new front headlights featuring the brand’s iconic three-claw light signature.

Two new colours are available for the new E-rifter, Sirkka Green and Kiama Blue. They have been especially formulated to complement the vehicle’s distinctive silhouette, its broad wheel arches, stylish roof bars, and high ground clearance.

Peugeot E-Rifter: Driving Pleasure

Inside, the E-Rifter boasts an all-new ergonomic dashboard equipped with Peugeot i-Cockpit®, which is now available with a new 10-inch HD central touchscreen. The seats are upholstered with a new light grey fabric that gives the vehicle a more inviting interior. A new compact, leather-covered heated steering wheel, with integrated controls to operate the multimedia system aws well as driver assistance systems are featured.

It’s not all just driving pleasure to think about, the E-rifter is host to an extensive suite of driver safety technologies. This includes:

  • Driver drowsiness alert
  • Lane keep assist
  • Automatic emergency braking.
  • Automatic speed sign recognition
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Improved parking assistance array

Peugeot E-Rifter: Ultimate Connection

To meet the needs of families and adventurers, the E-Rifter comes with a 50kWh battery paired with an electric motor producing 136hp and 260Nm of torque. The 50kWh battery now offers an enhanced range of up to 199 miles (WLTP combined cycle currently being certified).

As well as this, the new E-Rifter is fitted with a regenerative braking system with a choice of three different regeneration levels which can be selected using paddles located behind the steering wheel. There are three driving modes available:

  • Eco, for optimum range,
  • Power, for maximum performance
  • Normal, for versatile use

You will benefit from a 7.4kW onboard charger (with an 11 kW three-phase charger available as an option) capable of charging up to 100kW on a DC rapid charger. Charging times are as follows:

  • 30 minutes (recharge from 0 to 80%)
  • Full recharge in 5 hours
  • Full charge in 7 hours 30 minutes

You can expect the latest connective technology such as the ‘OK PEUGEOT’ intelligent voice assistant. This interface makes it easy to control the latest generation of Peugeot i-Connect and Peugeot i-Connect Advanced infotainment systems. Smartphone connectivity comes as standard of course, this is via MirrorScreen technology that includes wireless Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto, while a wireless smartphone charger is located on the centre console.

Using the MYPEUGEOT® smartphone app, users can benefit from additional features and connected services. This includes access to a virtual maintenance log and the ability to send destinations to the onboard navigation system remotely. Drivers can now also manage door central locking and activate headlights and horns remotely.

To enhance the EV ownership experience, the MYPEUGEOT® app also allows drivers to initiate or schedule thermal pre-conditioning and view, schedule, start or defer charging remotely.
